Abstract
In developing the author’s view of an Alzheimer Global â action to disseminate information and knowledge on Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, a report on several meetings held along 1998 is offered emphasizing the BarcelonePittsburgh Seminar organized by ACE Fundación of Catalunya. The breakthroughs on molecular genetic, physiopathology, diagnostic and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease achieved during the last year are exposed. The Spanish and European approaches to this disease are considered
Resumen
Como expresión del concepto de Alzheimer Globalâ, se hace una revisión de cuanto ha acontecido en torno a esta enfermedad a través de varias reuniones celebradas a lo largo de 1998, así como de lo más relevante que se ha publicado en investigación biomédica sobre este tema en este período. Se hacen consideraciones sobre las estrategias de planificación de cuidados médicos, asistencia social e investigación a nivel español y europeo sobre la enfermedad de Alzheimer
